Senior Practice Specialist
Our client has an immediate opening for a Litigation Secretary/Practice Specialist II based in the Century City office. This position requires a highly motivated individual with a minimum of 10 years of law firm experience as a litigation secretary/paralegal with an emphasis on probate and appellate work.  Extensive knowledge of litigation e-filings and trial procedures, federal, state and appellate court procedures, and federal and state court rules is required.  Ideal candidate will have excellent technical, organizational and administrative skills as well as strong interpersonal relationships skills.  The candidate must have the ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast paced environment.  This person should be able to work under pressure, remain flexible, be proactive, resourceful and efficient.  Candidate must be able to handle multiple projects and changing priorities in a very busy environment.  Willingness to do overtime is required.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Format, input, edit, retrieve, copy, scan, and transmit legal documents
  • Prepare pleadings and discovery documents for filing and service
  • E-File documents in both Local/State and Federal Jurisdictions
  • E-File documents in Appellate Courts using both TrueFiling platforms
  • Hyperlink case authorities and exterior documents cited within Briefs
  • Pull authorities off of Westlaw and Lexis
  • Proofreading complex documents
  • Billing client work 
  • Schedule depositions with attorneys, clients, witnesses, and court reporters
  • Create pleading/discovery binders, indexing and filing documents, organize and file case documents
  • Utilize docketing/calendaring department to track court and filing deadlines
  • Manage and plan calendar of all appointments, conferences and meetings
  • Daily review and prioritization of client correspondence and communications
  • Schedule conference calls and on-site/off-site meetings
  • Maintain client confidence by keeping client/attorney information confidential

  • This position has an annual billable requirement

The expected salary range for this position is between $95,000-$110,000. The actual base salary offered will depend upon a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
