A leading law firm is seeking a Senior Litigation Docket Clerk for its California Managing Attorney’s Office, with the role open to candidates based in any of the firm’s U.S. offices. This position supports litigation attorneys by calendaring critical deadlines using CourtAlert, retrieving and organizing court documents, and maintaining docketing databases. The clerk reviews incoming court filings, enters calendar deadlines, checks dockets for updates, and runs calendar reports, while also researching cases using specialized software and internet resources. The role reports to the Litigation Docket Supervisor and includes backup support for court-rule compliance review and electronic filings across state, federal district, and appellate courts, along with general administrative assistance as needed.
The ideal candidate has at least four years of litigation docketing experience, ideally at a large law firm, with familiarity with CourtAlert or similar rules-based calendaring software (CompuLaw, MA3000, etc.) and experience with firmwide calendaring and federal/state/local e-filing systems (NYSCEF, NexGen, PACER). Strong knowledge of California state and federal court rules, excellent organizational skills, and strong written and verbal communication are essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, and flexibility to work overtime and weekends based on department needs is expected.
Salary range: $95,000$110,000, plus health care, retirement benefits, paid time off, parental leave, life insurance, FSA, and performance-based bonuses.
