Our client is seeking a Client Accounting Specialist responsible for managing the financial aspects of assigned partners’ client portfolios, ensuring adherence to departmental standards and best practices. The role involves collaborating with the finance management team to deliver exceptional service internally and externally. This position can be based in any U.S. office location.
Key responsibilities include reviewing client and matter setup to ensure compliance with engagement letters and billing guidelines, maintaining documentation of non-standard billing requirements, monitoring work in progress, producing and distributing prebills, and performing various billing functions. The Specialist will also ensure timely delivery of client invoices, manage attorney and client deadlines, and meet regularly with billing attorneys to discuss new clients, special billing arrangements, and aged accounts receivable.
Additional duties involve actively monitoring accounts receivable, developing collection strategies, maintaining client contact for follow-ups, resolving client disputes, researching misapplied payments, preparing write-off requests, assisting attorneys and clients with billing questions, and proposing system and client support enhancements.
The ideal candidate will have at least five years of legal billing experience, proficiency in automated billing systems (particularly Aderant), strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a deadline-driven environment. A bachelor’s degree is required.
The anticipated salary range is $74,000 – $98,750, depending on various factors such as experience, education, and location. A discretionary bonus may be available based on performance, along with a comprehensive benefits package.
