Our client is seeking a Manager of Managing Law Clerks to lead the Chicago-based Managing Law Clerks department in a hybrid work environment. This role oversees daily operations, supervises and develops staff, and serves as a key liaison between attorneys, courts, and internal teams within the Litigation Department. The manager provides strategic guidance on calendaring and procedural matters, ensures compliance with evolving federal and state court rules, and oversees complex filings, docketing, and litigation support services.

Responsibilities include managing deadlines through calendaring systems, conducting docket research, coordinating electronic and conventional filings, and maintaining accurate records such as pro hac vice admissions and e-filing credentials. The role also involves optimizing workflows, standardizing procedures, leveraging technology to improve efficiency, and collaborating with firm leadership on departmental goals, budgeting, and long-term planning. Additionally, the manager plays a central role in hiring, training, performance management, and staff development.

Qualified candidates will have extensive knowledge of federal and Illinois court procedures—particularly in Cook County—along with strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills. A bachelor’s degree and at least five years of law firm supervisory experience are required. The position offers a salary range of $180,000–$195,000, plus comprehensive benefits and professional development opportunities.
