The Senior Litigation Docket Specialist based in Washington D.C. supports managing attorneys by handling daily court document activities, including filing, service, retrieval, and database updates. The role involves performing electronic filings in state and federal courts, reviewing documents for compliance, entering deadlines into docketing software like CourtAlert, and tracking critical dates. The specialist communicates with court personnel, attorneys, and staff to ensure proper procedures, travels to courts for filings and retrievals, and assists with administrative projects.
Key qualifications include strong interpersonal and communication skills, high organization, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines. Experience in court docketing, familiarity with court rules, and proficiency in Microsoft Office and calendaring software such as CourtAlert or CompuLaw are preferred. Knowledge of federal and state court systems, including electronic filing platforms like PACER and NYSCEF, is desirable. A bachelor’s degree is preferred, with at least two years of relevant experience in a law firm or managing attorney’s office being highly advantageous.
The annual salary range is $110,000 to $125,000, dependent on experience and qualifications
