Trademark Paralegal
CM Legal
The firm is seeking an experienced Trademark Paralegal to support IP attorneys in all aspects of U.S. and international trademark prosecution. This role requires at least 4–7 years of law firm experience and strong knowledge of U.S., WIPO, and foreign trademark rules and procedures. The ideal candidate is highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
Key responsibilities include conducting preliminary trademark clearance searches, preparing and filing U.S. trademark applications and related documents (office action responses, statements of use, renewals, declarations, and extensions), and handling Madrid Protocol filings, WIPO renewals, and foreign national applications through international associates. The paralegal will manage large domestic and international trademark portfolios, monitor deadlines, review trademark watch notices, and coordinate docketing.
Additional duties include recording assignments and ownership transfers with the USPTO and WIPO, assisting with TTAB proceedings, oppositions, enforcement matters, copyright filings, and IP due diligence. The role also involves preparing cost estimates, managing vendor relationships, and overseeing document legalization.
Strong attention to detail, excellent grammar skills, and the ability to work independently—including overtime when needed—are essential for success in this position.
