Workers Compensation Paralegal
Description 
Our client is looking for an experienced Paralegal for their workers’ compensation practice group based out of  New York and White Plains, NY office. Successful applicants will have excellent communication skills, a positive attitude, the ability to work under pressure and a desire to learn.

Primary duties include:

• Comply with requests from insurance carriers & the New York State Workers’ Compensation Board to obtain medical records 
• Drafting of discovery devices and requests including Subpoenas and Deposition Notices etc.
• Coordination of medical depositions
• Correspondence with attorney offices regarding settlement and stipulation negotiations
• Preparation and filing of standard forms.

Requirements

• 2  years’ experience in workers’ compensation
• Bachelor’s degree preferred but not required
• Knowledge of the requirements of the  New York State Workers' Compensation Board
• Ability to manage a large case load
• Strong organization skills and ability to self-manage
• Excellent client skills and telephone manner
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
• Knowledge of Adobe, Ardent Total Office,  Expert Time and Nitro PDF a plus
