The Trademark Senior Paralegal or Paralegal Specialist provides substantive legal support under a lawyer’s supervision, assisting in trademark-related matters. Responsibilities include preparing and filing both foreign and domestic trademark applications, drafting client and foreign associate communications, performing trademark availability searches, and reviewing office actions for attorneys. The paralegal will also assist with TTAB proceedings and trademark litigation, including drafting documents and maintaining pleadings files. Additional duties include coordinating legal projects, managing docket deadlines, evaluating potential specimens for trademark use, and handling copyright matters.
The role involves drafting legal documents, coordinating legal tasks, and managing projects for supervising lawyers or paralegals. The specialist may supervise junior paralegals and project assistants, maintain a notary license, and ensure compliance with legal standards. Maintaining accurate time records, meeting billable hour requirements (1,536 hours per year), and adhering to firm policies are crucial. Flexibility is required to meet deadlines during heavy workloads.
Candidates must possess strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and a solid understanding of legal processes. A Bachelor’s Degree or Paralegal Certification is required, with relevant experience ranging from 7 to 18 years, depending on the level. The salary ranges from $93,693.60 to $174,570, based on qualifications, experience, and location.
