A law firm is seeking a Temporary Patent Paralegal with over 5 years of experience for its Chicago-East or St. Louis office. The role involves preparing, drafting, reviewing, and electronically filing patent documents, with additional responsibilities including the preparation of information disclosure statements, assignment agreements, and coordination of foreign filings. The candidate will also assist attorneys by handling correspondence, legal documents, and docketing tasks, as well as preparing status reports and performing due diligence. The role requires experience in monitoring and paying annuities and maintenance fees, managing IP portfolios, recording billable time, and maintaining filing systems. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently with minimal supervision, prioritize tasks, and manage a deadline-driven workload. Additionally, effective communication and collaboration across multiple offices are essential. A high school diploma is required, though a college degree or paralegal certificate is preferred. The candidate should be proficient in IP docketing software, basic computer applications, and patent prosecution, with experience using Pattsy, NetDocs, and the Microsoft Suite. The position demands a high level of attention to detail and professionalism in all communications.
