Social Media Research Coordinator

Summary: The Social Media Research Coordinator will perform the pre-employment social media check process for potential new lawyer and staff hires and internal promotions. The coordinator will back-up the Compliance GovSec, BI and ITAR teams. The coordinator will ensure consistency in the social media searches for all US offices, following internal investigation guidelines and escalating non-compliant and questionable results.


  • Associates Degree from an accredited college is required, but Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. Education may be substituted for relevant work experience.  
  • Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in background check screening. Related compliance field a plus.  
  • Ability to maintain a security clearance.  
  • AFSO Certifications or ability to complete the course work.  
  • Strong administrative and computer skills, and knowledge of social media platforms and internet search processes.  
  • Self-starter with strong communication skills and ability to work in a remote team environment.
  • Working knowledge of various software packages such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Review all staff and attorney candidate social media platforms as a condition of their employment.  
  • Ensure consistency, and compliance with firm search and investigation policy for all candidates.  
  • Partner with human resources to follow-up on social media checks that require additional screening.
  • Verify and ensure all social media issues are resolved in a timely manner.  
  • Maintains records of all completed social media checks and resulting dispositions.  
  • Create and implement procedures and training techniques to help reduce follow-up time, and potential errors.  
  • Back-up the Compliance-ITAR Team on verifications and review of documentation for candidates that must meet the firm’s ITAR requirements.  
  • Coordinates with the Compliance BI, ITAR and Walls Teams on overflow work.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. Ensures compliance with regulations regarding proper safeguarding of personal information.
