A federal agency in Los Angeles seeks a Senior Paralegal (Paralegal/Legal Assistant II) to support criminal and civil litigation on behalf of the United States government. Responsibilities include conducting specialized legal research and analysis, drafting legal documents and correspondence, managing discovery, organizing evidence, interviewing witnesses, and assisting attorneys during trial and court proceedings. The role also involves case evaluation, referral development, and eDiscovery support using tools like Relativity, LEXIS, and Westlaw.

Candidates must have a paralegal certificate, Juris Doctorate, or at least one year completed at an ABA-accredited law school, plus two years of litigation paralegal or related project experience and one year of automated litigation support experience. Strong knowledge of federal and state court procedures, legal research tools, and eDiscovery processes is required. Familiarity with litigation databases and case management software is essential.

This is a full-time, on-site position (8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday–Friday) with potential for approved overtime and limited travel. U.S. citizenship and the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance are mandatory. Preferred qualifications include trial experience, prior government or litigation support work, and an active clearance. Candidates must provide three professional references and a detailed resume listing dates and locations of all education and work experience.
