Senior Manager, Financial Planning & Analysis

Our client has an opening for a Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis in their New York office.
The Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis assists in the budget process, maintains and organizes the account hierarchy for clear representation of data, updates structure of reports and meets with business owners to review financials.
In this capacity, the Senior Manager, Financial Planning and Analysis will:

  • Evaluate and analyze the financials of the firm in order to meet legal and compliance obligations and keep the financial position in good standing;
  • Prepare, automate and report on financial information including monthly financial statements;
  • Monitors financial trends and forecasts revenues and expenditures to ensure responsibility and control;
  • Responds to special requests for financial data and analyzes information on current and proposed projects and programs;
  • Manages the general ledger and payroll mapping;
  • Works additional hours as required, in particular at month-end and year-end; and
  • Handles additional tasks and projects as assigned.

Proficiencies:

  • Theory of principles and practices of accounting;
  • Automated accounting system;
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; and
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting. MBA (strongly preferred);
  • At least 10 years of accounting and financial planning & analysis experience, of which 5 years must be in general ledger or general ledger equivalent;
  • Experience or knowledge of accounting principles sufficient to prepare complex and detailed financial and budget analyses;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills that allow for interpretation of financial data and related management information;
  • Experience working with Elite 3E and budgeting tool is preferred;
  • Knowledge and/or experience in using database query tools;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively within an team environment;
  • Strong organizational skills to work independently and to prioritize a heavy workload under the pressure of competing assignments;
  • Ability to exercise good judgment and discretion, especially with regard to sensitive or confidential personnel or organizational matters; and
  • Capability to learn and follow Firm and practice-area-specific procedures and terminology.

The salary wage range that they expect to pay for this position is a minimum of $135,000 and a maximum of $175,600 annually.  The actual pay wage may vary based on experience or other relevant factors.
