The Senior Information Governance Specialist II is responsible for planning, leading, and executing various information governance (IG) projects and services. This role involves managing core IG functions such as access entitlement reviews, data storage analysis, client data chargeback processes, and file storage optimization. The specialist is also involved in data protection, secure file destruction, and maintaining records of IG-related processes.
As a primary resource for data and records lifecycle management, the specialist oversees client-required entitlement reviews and collaborates on system automation for electronic data storage and client data chargeback activities. They serve as a subject matter expert, producing reports, analyzing data, and advising on IG policies in complex situations. The role includes supporting the management, transfer, and destruction of files, facilitating IG-related software requirements, and ensuring compliance.
The specialist leads the development of IG workflows, training materials, and documentation, while also managing requests for IG services and proposing data safeguards. A four-year degree in a relevant field and at least three years of experience in information governance or related areas are required. Advanced communication, critical thinking, and proficiency in Microsoft software are essential, with preference given to those with experience in specific IG technologies used in law firms.
