The Practice Support Manager (PSM) assists Global Business Leaders (GBLs) in managing and advancing their Business Units (BUs). Key responsibilities include collaborating with Business Unit Leaders and Practice Group Leaders to develop and execute business plans, talent development, and work allocation for non-partner timekeepers. The PSM ensures equitable distribution of work and coordinates legal support staff to meet strategic goals. They monitor performance metrics, manage capacity, and standardize docket and filing functions across offices. Additional duties include organizing partner and team meetings, coordinating training, developing pricing strategies, and handling employee relations in collaboration with HR.
The role requires a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, preferably in Legal Studies or Business Administration, and experience in a law firm or professional services firm. Three years of supervisory experience is preferred. Key skills include leadership, organization, multitasking, project management, numerical analysis, and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong communication skills and discretion in handling confidential information are essential. The position requires the ability to sit or stand for extended periods, lift up to 15 pounds, work on a computer for long durations, and travel when necessary.
