Payroll Coordinator
This position is reporting directly to the Payroll Manager. The ideal candidate will have experience processing payroll for a large organization and preferably have experience in UltiPro Software. The Payroll Coordinator will have contact with all levels of personnel across the Firm. Strong written and verbal communications skills are required as well as a strong attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- Process Bi-weekly Payrolls and Semi-monthly Draw for multistate firm.
- Update and maintain employee benefit deductions, retirement changes, garnishments and miscellaneous changes
- Process manual checks, following federal and state regulations along with other miscellaneous duties
- Assist with transmission of payroll
- Audit payroll entries and timesheet entries for accuracy
- Process hours from Aderant system as needed
- Run time reports for payroll processing as needed
- Assist with annual Firm financial audit, retirement plan audit, and workers compensation insurance audit
- Calculate quarterly and annual payroll tax to confirm accurate filings
- Assists Sr. Payroll Coordinator with year-end processing, including preparation and distribution of Form W-2
- Maintain proper documentation, scan and file when necessary
- Perform Leave of Absence payment calculations
- Complete Verification of Employment
- Any other duties as assigned
Essential Functions:
- Assist with transmission of payroll

- Ability to learn quickly and apply knowledge independently in a fast-paced environment
- Process hours from Aderant system as needed
- Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of personnel
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multi task effectively
- Respond to payroll related emails timely, accurately and professionally
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 2 years of experience processing payroll
- Excellent communication skills and high level of professionalism
- Be detail oriented and have ability to work with end users
- Willing to work overtime as needed
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimum supervision
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of UltiPro Time and Attendance software / Kronos Time
- Knowledge of Celergo/ADP International Payroll System and foreign payroll processing
- Experience with multi-state taxes
- Experience with handling garnishments and leave of absence payments
Education
Preferred: Associate’s Degree or Higher
Computer/Software Knowledge
Required: Intermediate/Advanced Microsoft Excel skills required
Preferred: Experience with UltiPro Software, Cognos (version 11) reporting skills
Work Environment
After hours and weekend work will be required on occasion as the workload requires. This position requires you to work fully onsite in the Downtown Los Angeles office Monday through Friday.
The salary range for this position is between $55,000 and $65,000. The actual base salary offered will depend upon a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
