The Patent Prosecution Legal Administrative Assistant provides essential administrative support to attorneys and paralegals within the patent prosecution practice. Responsibilities include preparing and filing patent applications with the USPTO and foreign patent offices, managing attorney dockets, and creating and maintaining both physical and electronic files. The role also involves drafting client correspondence, editing complex documents, coordinating attorney schedules, organizing travel, and managing workflows through firm systems. Key tasks include monitoring deadlines, filing continuing applications, and assisting with patent file integrations.

Candidates must have at least five years of IP patent prosecution experience and a high school diploma, though an associate or bachelor's degree is preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle multiple priorities in a dynamic environment are required. Effective communication, problem-solving abilities, and a professional demeanor are essential. Flexibility to adjust work hours as needed is also necessary.
