The Paralegal in Education Law assists attorneys with various education matters, including special education due process hearings, court proceedings, and pre-litigation investigations. The role requires limited supervision and demands proficiency in the Education Code, Federal Regulations, and knowledge of special education terminology. Candidates must have strong computer skills, including experience with legal research tools like Lexis-Nexis and Westlaw.

Key responsibilities include managing case progress, drafting legal documents, and utilizing document review databases. Paralegals must demonstrate expertise in the California Code of Civil Procedure and maintain organized case files. Additionally, they perform proofreading, manage the discovery process, assist in trial preparation, and support attorneys during depositions and trials.

Essential qualifications include a B.A./B.S. degree, paralegal certification, and at least seven years of experience. Strong organizational, communication, and research skills are vital, along with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The position offers a salary range of $75,000 – $85,000, depending on experience and location, and encourages applications from qualified candidates.
