Litigation Legal Secretary (Medical Malpractice)

Our client’s White Plains office is seeking a Litigation Legal Secretary to support a leading Medical Malpractice and Long-Term Care defense team. This full-time position is ideal for candidates looking to grow within a collaborative and fast-paced legal environment.
Core responsibilities include preparing and e-filing court documents, formatting legal filings, redacting and proofreading documents, pulling exhibits, and maintaining organized digital and physical files. Additional tasks involve opening new matters, scheduling depositions and conferences, managing attorney calendars, retrieving court decisions from Westlaw, preparing billing cover letters, and processing third-party vendor invoices.
Candidates must have 2+ years of litigation experience, with specific exposure to Medical Malpractice litigation. Strong familiarity with New York State and Federal court procedures, e-filing systems, and the creation of tables of authorities is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel), strong typing and communication skills, and excellent organization are required. The ability to multitask and adapt to new challenges is crucial. A Notary Public license is required.
This role supports multiple attorneys in a team-based structure and offers a comprehensive benefits package, including 401(k), health, dental, vision, disability, and life insurance. Compensation is based on experience, education, and other relevant factors, with an estimated salary range between $70,000 – $90,000.
