Legal Assistant Senior Coordinator – Mass Torts (Paralegal)

Our client is seeking a Legal Assistant Senior Coordinator – Mass Torts to join their Firm. Within this position, you will be responsible for the coordination, oversight, and assistance of trials for a Litigation/Mass Torts partner. Additionally, you will provide guidance and assistance to attorneys, legal assistant colleagues, and others involved in preparing for and attending trials, including but not limited to: evidence preparation, courtroom operations, war-room management and trial site logistics. This position will be based in the New York office and has a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. 

As the Legal Assistant Senior Coordinator – Mass Torts you will:

  • Demonstrate an advanced proficiency, and excels, in handling trial-related tasks and projects, including:
    • Evidence Preparation, including assisting in the preparation of pre-trial filings, coordinating the collection and processing of evidence to be used at trial, assisting trial teams in the proper use of evidence in witness examination outlines, and supervising the collection and organization of all essential case records.
    • Courtroom Operations, including coordinating with courthouse staff, as well as vendors, to ensure adherence to local rules and court preferences, maintaining supplies and equipment for use in the courtroom, preparing and distributing all hard copy materials for use in court, assisting trial attorneys with the use of exhibits and other documents during witness examinations, and tracking and recording the admission of evidence.
    • War-Room Management, including coordinating with legal assistant supervisors to assess the staff required for trial, supervising all trial-related staff assignments, and supervising the assembly and production of witness exam binders.
    • Trial Site Logistics, including identifying remote trial site requirements, exploring options for lodging and office space, preparing budget for trial site disbursements, assisting with the negotiation and execution of vendor contracts, employ Firm resources, including technology and administrative support, to fulfill trial site requirements, and supervising the set-up and breakdown of remote trial sites.
  • Demonstrate an advanced proficiency, and excel, in handling Mass Torts-related research and coordination.
  • Serve as a Mass Torts resource for attorneys and other professional staff, Firm-wide, as needed.
  • Assist with practice-related projects.
  • Assist with mentoring and training junior legal assistants.
  • Ensure that all files are maintained within Department-approved protocols and case management systems and seek to improve workflow regarding storage and recall of materials.


  • In-depth understanding of advanced task specific concepts and procedures
  • Knowledge of relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the ability to learn new software and operating systems
  • Ability to navigate various electronic databases and document repositories
  • Strong research skills and proficiency in using various research tools
  • Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational and planning skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive matters and maintain confidentiality
  • Ability to work well independently as well as effectively within a team

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Minimum of six years of experience in a legal assistant position inclusive of Mass Torts experience, skillset and expertise

The starting base salary for this position is expected to be within the range listed under Salary Details.  Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant) and other-job related factors, consistent with applicable law.

$110,000 – $130,000
