The Litigation Legal Assistant role involves providing administrative support to attorneys and paralegals in a Cleveland law office, with a focus on litigation. Key responsibilities include offering outstanding client service, scheduling meetings, and assisting with telephone conferences. The assistant will prepare and review letters and memoranda, manage deadlines, file documents electronically with courts, and draft legal documents. They are also tasked with handling payments, reimbursements, and managing client communications and files according to firm standards. Maintaining strict confidentiality, prioritizing tasks efficiently, and interacting professionally with court personnel and colleagues are crucial elements of the role.
The ideal candidate should be proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with programs such as Kofax/Nuance, InTapp, LMS+, and iManage. A deep understanding of the litigation process and court operations is necessary. Strong verbal and written communication skills, the ability to solve problems, and the capacity to work under pressure are important. A minimum of 5 years of litigation legal assisting experience is required, with education beyond high school or legal coursework preferred. Candidates should be prepared to work beyond regular hours when needed.
