Document Services Operator
Position Summary:
The Operator compiles, types, revises, combines, edits, prints, and stores documents.

Essential Functions:

  • Compiles necessary material to be review and typed.
  • Follows verbal or written instructions from supervisor or person requesting document to determine format and content required.
  • Formats documents and enters information, using computer and word processing software or other word processing equipment.
  • Performs extensive formatting of correspondence, reports, records, minutes of meetings, scientific or technical material, numerical data, and tabular information, from rough draft, corrected copy, recorded voice dictation, or previous computer versions.
  • Proofreads and edits documents for grammar, spelling, punctuation, format.
  • Liaise with attorneys regarding document problems and delays.
  • Stores completed documents per departmental standard procedure.
  • Prepares and submits daily time entries.
  • Inputs data for revision or editing using optical scanner or other non-keyboard data entry devices.
  • Provides word processing assistance to legal staff as requested.
  • Performs other clerical duties such as scheduling appointments, taking dictation, reading and routing incoming mail.

Required Education:
Relevant certificate or technical school degree; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience and Skills Required:

  • Thorough knowledge of EDGARIZER or GOFILER (SEC software).
  • Knowledge of word processing center environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word 2007, including advanced functions (TOC, TOA, Cross-referencing, Bookmarks, Track Changes, Tables, Drawing, Auto-Correct features, Styles) Windows XP, Excel 2007, PowerPoint 2007, IManage, and Visio.
  • Knowledge of DTE and/or Elite Accounting software; Interaction Contact Management systems.
  • Types 65-75+ words per minute.
  • The duties of the position may require extended and irregular hours to perform the essential duties of the position.

The salary range for this position is between $70,000 and $90,000. The actual base salary offered will depend upon a variety of factors, including without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and if applicable, the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job.
