Director, Conflicts Attorney

The firm is seeking a Director, Conflicts Attorney, to oversee all aspects of conflicts clearance for new clients, matters, and lateral attorney hires. This role, based in any U.S. office, involves analyzing conflict reports, resolving conflict of interest issues, and ensuring compliance with firm policies and professional responsibility rules. The Director will work closely with the Chief Legal Operations Officer, General Counsel’s Office, and the Director of Conflicts & Information Governance.

Key responsibilities include identifying and resolving potential conflicts, obtaining necessary waivers, and drafting ethics wall memos. The Director will also review engagement letters, assess compliance with client guidelines, and communicate with partners regarding conflicts. Other duties involve conducting staff orientations on the approval process, maintaining conflict resolution records, performing corporate research, and developing expertise in specific practice areas.

Qualifications include strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills, with a methodical and detail-oriented approach to work. The candidate should have a JD, at least three years of experience in a conflicts department, and knowledge of professional responsibility rules and conflicts principles. Familiarity with conflicts clearance software and legal tools such as Intapp and D&B/Hoovers is preferred.

Compensation ranges from $225,000 to $300,000 annually, depending on qualifications and operational considerations.
