Business Development Coordinator

The Business Development Coordinator provides support to a wide range of business development and marketing activities.

Essential Functions

  • Assists in the development and production of new business proposals, client presentations and pitches.
  • Contributes to the collection, development and upkeep of marketing materials.
  • Assists with business development projects, including researching opportunities, particular clients or prospects.
  • Prepares research and background briefing books related to business development targets and plans.
  • Provides assistance on the firm’s submissions to legal directories, league tables, rankings and awards.
  • Maintains awards tracking and the pitch database.
  • Provides support supplementing and updating client and matter data in the firm’s new experience database.
  • Assists and collaborates with the department’s other functional teams, including the communications and public relations on website updates, proof reading and editing; the CRM team on research to keep the firm’s contact data system up-to-date and on targeted mailing list development; and the events team on firm conferences, including occasional on-site assistance.
  • Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

Education

  • Bachelors’ degree in a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience and Skills Required

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience, preferably in a professional services environment.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of products including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Experience with research, CRM systems.
  • Experience with Adobe Acrobat a plus.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, written, proof reading and oral skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them under demanding time constraints.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of attorneys and staff and provide information in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Takes the initiative to be resourceful and a self-starter and is able to work independently as well as within a team environment.
  • The work may require extended and irregular hours to perform the essential duties of the position.
